St. Vincent DePaul
Society Food Pantry
Many of you may not be aware that St. Anns
Rectory has a St. Vincent DePaul Society Food Pantry. The needy
(numbers are rapidly growing) can come to the back door of the
rectory to receive a bag of groceries on a weekly basis. What
they receive is not anything extravagant, but more like the bare
necessities ie....soup, cereal, bread, peanut butter, pasta,
sauce, etc. I recently found out the the St. Vincent DePaul
Food Pantry at St. Ann Rectory had to close for a few weeks due
to lack of food. I was thinking that perhaps the Knights could
help out with this situation by being a collection site and
having a drop off box at the Knights Hall. Food and monetary
donations can also be taken to St. Ann's Rectory or put in the
drop box in the back of the church.
Suggestions of non-perishable food items:
Canned Tuna
Soups
Juice/Juice Boxes
Canned Fruit and Veggies
Jarred spaghetti sauce
Pasta/Noodles
Cereal
Crackers
Peanut Butter
Jelly
Cookies
Powdered Milk Packets
Canned Pasta such as Beefaroni, Ravioli, Spaghettios
CANNED MEALS such as Beef Stew, Chili, some also come with
Chicken in a can
Snacks that children might like
I know first hand, as a member of the St.
Vincent DePaul Food Pantry Ministry at St. Anns, that the need
is great and growing every day. Thank you for your concern.
Thanks, Jamie &
Doris Walsh
